It makes a fantastic pot of coffee without cooking it. That was my goal. It helps that the stainless steel pot isn't so easily broken in the sink as so many glass ones... And I appreciate the ability to froth the milk. I haven't tried the half and half, as they recommend not to, but oh well. Half and half beats skim, right? I thought the skim thing would be an incentive for me to lower the dairy fat in my life... but NO. Don't sweat the talk of the frother being difficult. If you can can handle basic kitchen gadgets, this should pose no problem in cleaning or operation.
